Due to the strictness of the government in China, young people have given up their addiction to gaming

Online gaming has become very popular among the youth over the years. However, many youngsters are also addicted to gaming. China claims to have solved the problem of gaming addiction among its young population. Last year, regulators in China introduced new rules to address the issue.

Association of Gaming Industry in China Report I claim to have solved this problem. The report was produced by the online game publishing regulator, the China Game Industry Group Committee affiliated with the China Game Industry Research Institute, and data provider CNG. New rules enacted last year prohibited youths under the age of 18 from playing video games for more than three hours a week. Following this, media reports stated that loopholes in the new rules need to be addressed in order to get rid of youth gaming addiction. China’s Communist Party newspaper People’s Daily stated, “Some online trading platforms are trading the rental and sale of game accounts. This allows users to play online games by renting or buying accounts without restrictions. Huh.”

Last year, regulators cracked down on tech-related companies in China. These included companies related to the gaming industry. A report on Fighting Gaming Addiction states that more than 75 percent of young people are playing games for less than three hours a week. The success has been hailed by gaming companies that have created systems to combat this addiction.

The Central Government of India may increase the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on online gaming. However, with this, the formula for calculating the amount for charging GST on gaming may be changed. The current rate of GST on online gaming is 18 percent. The Group of Finance Ministers (GoM) of states may suggest a 28 percent tax on online gaming. Both games of skill or game of chance will have the same GST. The GoM report may be submitted to the GST Council for consideration soon.
